Latest News on our Chaplaincy Services

This week, like many other people, I have spent a great deal of time learning how to use different video conferencing programs! With our team working from home we are using video calls to share and pray together. And from next week, I will be hosting a weekly coffee morning with several women from the gym, who I usually meet with in a cafe. I am really looking forward to sitting on my couch with a mug of tea in my hands whilst we chat and share together. And also for the opportunity to care for them and offer prayer, even if it’s not in our normal style.

Over the past couple of weeks, our team has cancelled all face-to-face chaplaincy projects, and yet we have been busier than ever. Even those who wouldn’t normally do so have been reaching out for the listening ear and prayer that we offer.

In these unprecedented times, we are having to adapt and find creative ways to be available and offer pastoral care.  We are making time for online drop-in sessions and phone calls, hosting online prayer meetings, and planning virtual events for the coming months to keep us connected and  to enable us to continue loving and serving the third space communities that we support. Our staff are especially busy with so many in entertainment and nightlife industries facing cancelled events and months without work. It is a joy and a privilege to be a source of comfort and hope.

We are aware that chaplaincy will be required more than ever over the coming months. Amidst  concerns  about health, loss of income, anxiety and isolation, there will also be many questions about life and faith. We are committed  to continue providing chaplaincy support and ask that you keep us in your prayers.

We recognise that not everyone can afford to at this time, but if you are able to support our work with a donation or regular gift we would be very grateful, as it will enable us to extend our reach even further.

We will continue to regularly post positive news and stories on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, and will also send monthly newsletters.

We are also praying for you, each one of our supporters. Please do not go through this time alone. If you don’t have someone to talk to, please get in touch and we will support you the best way that we can.
